Running everything off extension leads and adapter blocks isn’t just untidy — it’s often a sign your home needs more sockets or a dedicated circuit for a specific appliance. Wesparx installs additional sockets, USB outlets, and dedicated circuits across Sutton, Surrey and South London, every job fixed price and fully certificated.
What We Install
Additional sockets — for rooms with too few outlets, or awkwardly placed existing ones
USB outlets — built-in charging without permanent adapters plugged into every socket
Dedicated appliance circuits — cookers, hobs, dishwashers, washing machines, and other high-draw appliances
Home office circuits — a clean, dedicated supply for a desk setup rather than a daisy-chain of extension leads
New circuits generally — for extensions, converted rooms, or garages needing power for the first time
When You Need a Dedicated Circuit
A cooker or hob typically needs a dedicated radial circuit — often 32A for smaller appliances, up to 45A for larger range cookers
Dishwashers and washing machines are usually best run on their own supply rather than sharing sockets with everything else in a kitchen
A modern kitchen commonly needs five to eight separate circuits in total: sockets, cooker, hob (if separate), dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, extractor fan, and lighting
Home offices and workshops benefit from a dedicated circuit if running multiple monitors, chargers, and equipment continuously
RCD Protection Requirements
Under BS 7671, all socket outlets rated up to 32A in a home must have 30mA RCD protection — this applies to every socket circuit we install. As of Amendment 4 (2026), kitchen lighting circuits now require the same 30mA RCD protection too, which we factor in on any kitchen rewiring or circuit work.
Signs You Might Need More Sockets or Circuits
Extension leads and adapter blocks permanently plugged in around the house
Breakers tripping when multiple appliances run at once
Planning a kitchen renovation, home office, or extension with new equipment to power
An existing appliance circuit that’s undersized for what it’s now running
